Author Guidelines

Submission guidelines:

I - Composition by authorship, regardless of professional affiliation and place of origin:

a) In the case of individual authorship, the author must have, exclusively, the title of Doctor.

b) In the case of co-authorship, only one (1) of the authors may be a master or doctoral student, the others being, necessarily, doctors.

c) In the case of multiple authorship it must to be inform the contribution of each author to the article by the example of CRediT taxonomy .

d) Articles by masters and graduates are not accepted in this journal.

II - All authors must be registered in the ORCID id (https://orcid.org/). Properly filled in the ID metadata.

III - Authors must complete and inform all metadata on the journal's platform, such as education, education, institution, curriculum link LATTES (https://lattes.cnpq.br/) – for all Brazilian authors), contacts, etc.

IV - Authors must respect the interstitial period of up to 12 months for the publication of their manuscripts in Perspectivas em Ciência da Informação.

Complementary guidelines:

1 - The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal; if not, justify in "Comments to the Editor".

2- Articles should have a minimum of 15 (fifteen) and a maximum of 25 (twenty-five) pages. The document should not have any information about the authors, because this journal works with a blind review.

3 -Title in Portuguese, English and in the language of the article, if another language , which should express in a clear and precise form the general content of the article.

4 - Keywords and abstract in Portuguese, English and in the language of the article, if another language, up to 200 (two hundred) words. 

5 - Section titles must present all words in capital letters and in bold letters, section subtitles must present only the first letter of the first word in capital letters and must be write in bold letters.

6 - The text must present paragraphs with 1.5 spacing for the body of the text. Spacing should be simple for long citations (four lines or more), footnotes, figure sources, and any other details. All text must be justified and use an indent of 1.25cm from the left margin at the beginning of each paragraph.

7 -
Quotations of up to 3(three) lines should be included in the text, with quotation marks. Quotations of more than 3(three) lines should be indented, without quotation marks.

8 - Foreign words should be italicized.

9 - Figures, graphs, drawings, tables, etc., should be included only where they are absolutely necessary to clarify the text and should be located the closest to the part of the text they are mentioned, indicating the source utilized. Images could be sent in separate files in high resolution (400 dpi), in TIFFm EPS or JPEG formats.

10 - Titles or captions should be clear and objective.

11 - Quotations must be in accordance with the NBR 10520:2023 da ABNT

12 - References must be in accordance with the NBR 6023:2018 da ABNT.

13 - The file with the text of the paper must be attached in .doc and .docx format according to the Manuscript Model

14 - The author should be, on the moment of the submission, fill the Formulário sobre Conformidade com a Ciência Aberta about Open Science and attach on the submission file "Discussão de pré-avaliação".

15 - The submissions with multiple authors the table below must be completed about the roles of each author and sent as an attachment to the article to be submitted, as it is a blind evaluation. It is important to note that more than one term can be attributed to a single contributor.

Data curation

Management activities to annotate (produce metadata), scrub data and maintain research data (including software code, where it is necessary for interpreting the data itself) for initial use and later re-use.

Formal Analysis

Application of statistical, mathematical, computational, or other formal techniques to analyse or synthesize study data.

Funding acquisition

Acquisition of the financial support for the project leading to this publication.

Investigation

Conducting a research and investigation process, specifically performing the experiments, or data/evidence collection.

Methodology

Development or design of methodology; creation of models.

Project administration

Management and coordination responsibility for the research activity planning and execution.

Resources

Provision of study materials, reagents, materials, patients, laboratory samples, animals, instrumentation, computing resources, or other analysis tools.

Software

Programming, software development; designing computer programs; implementation of the computer code and supporting algorithms; testing of existing code components.

Supervision

Oversight and leadership responsibility for the research activity planning and execution, including mentorship external to the core team.

Validation

Verification, whether as a part of the activity or separate, of the overall replication/reproducibility of results/experiments and other research outputs.

Visualization

Preparation, creation and/or presentation of the published work, specifically visualization/data presentation.

Writing – original draft

Preparation, creation and/or presentation of the published work, specifically writing the initial draft (including substantive translation).

Writing – review & editing

Preparation, creation and/or presentation of the published work by those from the original research group, specifically critical review, commentary or revision – including pre- or post-publication stages.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The contribution is original and unpublished, and is not being evaluated for publication by another journal; otherwise, it must be justified in "Comments to the editor".
  • URL for the references were informed whenever necessary.
  • The text follows the style standards and bibliographic requirements described in Guidelines for Authors, on page About the Magazine.
  • The text is in accordance with the scope of the Journal.
  • The authors have the title indicated by the scope and guidelines of the Journal.
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word format (.doc, .docx).
  • The text is single-spaced; uses the 11-point font; uses italics instead of underlining (except for URL addresses); figures and tables are inserted in the text, not at the end of the document in the form of annexes. By rules of the Template Orientations
