Abstract

The manuscript DKmu 7501.2432, attributed to Policarpo José António da Silva, is of doubtful authenticity. After a brief description of the musical panorama of the last two decades of eighteenth century Lisbon - city where the tenor and composer Policarpo da Silva worked, and where, in Portugal, the market for manuscript copies was based at that time -, we present a formal analysis of the concert with some considerations on its critical edition and historical performance. Some suggestions and hypotheses about the possible authors are proposed in the conclusion.
