Preferências de Estilos de Aprendizagem entre os usuários da Biblioteca Digital de Ciências (BDC-IB-Unicamp)

O objetivo deste trabalho é determinar o estilo de aprendizagem predominante entre os usuários da Biblioteca Digital de Ciências (BDC/IB/UNICAMP) através da aplicação do Inventário de Estilos de Aprendizagem desenvolvido por Kolb em 1976 e adaptado e validado para o Brasil por Sobral em 1992. Observamos que 43% dos usuários encaixam-se no estilo Assimilador. Este mesmo estilo é predominante entre os professores (46%) e os estudantes (42%). A prevalência dos estilos Assimilador e Convergente era esperada, pois ambos são guiados por símbolos e desenhos, elementos comuns em ferramentas de ensino computacionais e no ensino Biologia, área onde se concentra a maior parte do acervo da BDC. Ao contrário do observado na literatura, houve uma prevalência do estilo Assimilador independente do tipo (professor/estudante), instituição (privada/pública) e gênero (homem/mulher) do usuário, mostrando que fatores sociais e culturais influenciam no estilo de aprendizagem. Estes dados podem auxiliar no desenvolvimento de ferramentas que facilitassem o processo ensino e aprendizado através da inclusão de elementos simbólicos ou textuais nos materiais digitais atendendo individualmente aos usuários com diferentes perfis.
