A Educação Ambiental no ensino de biologia e um olhar sobre as formas de relação entre seres humanos e animais

A educação ambiental integra as ações educativas que podem compor e ampliar a formação das noções de democracia, cidadania, justiça social e ambiental. Tal formação favorece olhar as complexas relações que se dão entre a cultura humana e os animais de distintas formas. Este texto tem por objetivo identificar algumas formas de relação dos seres humanos com os animais a partir do referencial da semiótica de Peirce com os interpretantes emocional, energético e lógico produzidos a partir de fotografias feitas por alunos do ensino médio e que tenham como tema maus tratos aos animais. Optamos por uma leitura baseada na semiótica peirceana a partir da identificação de situações de maus tratos captadas nas fotografias, visando propiciar uma educação ambiental crítica, não-antropocêntrica, como forma possível de rever as formas de relação dos seres humanos com os animais. Observamos que as fotografias analisadas como signos icônicos produzem os três efeitos interpretantes, emocional, energético e lógico, revelando os pensamentos de alunos e alunas acerca do tema maus tratos aos animais. Além disso, propiciou a experiência concreta de alunos e alunas frente a situações de maus tratos o que provocou uma reflexão genuína sobre as formas utilitária, de abuso e crueldade com que os animais são tratados. Com isso, a percepção de alunos e alunas tornou-se mais ampla, complexa e crítica no sentido de entender os determinantes e as consequências dessas formas de relação. Também passaram a questionar as próprias atitudes frente a essa problemática, embasados em novos valores que consideram outras formas de vida não humanas.
