Diseño de Materiales para la Educación Científica Intercultural: El Cultivo de la Milpa en México como Ejemplo para el Diálogo

En este trabajo se desarrolla una propuesta para la construcción de materiales
educativos para la enseñanza de las ciencias que consideran de manera explícita la diversidad cultural. Se hace énfasis en la importancia de establecer relaciones entre los conocimientos científicos (escolares) y los conocimientos indígenas y tradicionales para fomentar el diálogo intercultural que permita el desarrollo de ciudadanos capaces de comprender el mundo y tomar decisiones que les permitan desarrollar su proyecto de vida. Se presentan criterios para el desarrollo de materiales educativos que promuevan el diálogo científico intercultural y se discute también cómo estos criterios se concretan alrededor de un fenómeno particular; en este caso, la siembra de la milpa en México. El ejemplo permite pensar en cómo ciertos contextos específicos y locales adquieren relevancia para la educación científica desde una perspectiva intercultural y dialógica.
