Freedom of expression is one of the basic rights guaranteed by legislation, and nowadays, mainly through the internet, it becomes one of the main mechanisms for exposing ideas, and knowledge. Therefore, freedom of expression has a fundamental role for the functioning of the Brazilian democratic society, thus giving rise to the vital importance of studying it in depth, especially in Law courses. This is stated, because as a fundamental human right, freedom of expression, also through the internet, is increasingly highlighted by legislation, legal doctrine and the Brazilian Judiciary. Thus, it is sought in this article, to provide about the approach to the theme of freedom of expression within the Law courses in Brazil. To do this, we first analyze the nuances that formulate Brazilian legal education, the legal determinations that cover it and finally, we specifically analyze a Law course, based in the city of Santa Maria, in Rio Grande do Sul, to ascertain the curricular structure during the course of the bachelor's Degree and the way in which the study of the theme is approached during the undergraduate course and if this form is sufficient for an adequate understanding of the theme. In addition, a parameter is made about the importance of combining theoretical studies with practical studies, focusing Digital Law. The research is guided by the deductive method of analysis and bibliographic and documentary research.
