The study identified the body weight perception of 827 women selected in a health center in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, comparing it with the overweight anthropometric diagnostic. The subjects of the study were asked about their weight and classified as overweight or ideal weight. A high percentage of women of this study overestimated their perceived self-image. Differences of +/- 8 and +/- 4 kg between reported weight and measured weight would be expected in 95% of the lower an higher family income, respectively, compromising the first group's related weight.Downloads
