The present article aims to present appointments and reflections generated from the analysis of a questionnaire about teaching and study of color in art classes, answered by Art teachers who work in public and private Brazilian schools. The analyzes have revealed that the art teachers lack basic theoretical knowledge, materials and adequate physical structure that enable them to develop teaching-learning procedures on color in accordance with the circumstances and needs of contemporary society.
