Abstract

In this article, the author highlights silence as a significant element in the intersection between the field of the performing arts and that of contemplative practices. François Kahn describes and analyzes the use and quality of silence in his practices, particularly in the contiguity between paratheatre and theatre, in the projects L'Atelier, in Volterra (Italy) and Caminhos do Silêncio in Ravena/Sabará, MG (Brazil).
