This article aims to reflect upon the German Expressionism taking into account its historical context as well as the cinematic features inherited from the litera-ture and painting, as opposed to French impressionism. Therefore, it examines two short films in animation, in homage to German Expressionism, winners and produced in Brazil in 2000. The study draws attention to the production of evidencing, in contrast to the style, resulting from the philosophy of art (notably Expressionism).
