The present work is an interview with Prof. Dr. Luiz Carlos Cólon Llamas held in February 2020 during the José Luiz Kinceler International Festival of Art and Culture– Fik 2020, organized by the Arts Center of the University of the State of Santa Catarina. The teacher told what motivated him to develop research on the Vkhutemas school and clarified some doubts about the structure of this institution. In addition, he commented on the debates that took place in artistic collectives after the1917 Revolution, especially the experimentation and objectification of artistic practice. Finally, he was able to explain about the textile studios, where was the artist Varvara Stepanova, object of research by one of the interviewers. Thus, the interview proposed to show some of the main debates, impasses and artistic groups that were involved in the creation of an art school that wanted to be revolutionary.
