In the fourth chapter of her book One place after another: site-specific art and locational
identity, Miwon Kwon undertakes a careful analysis of the project Culture in Action: new
public art in Chicago, which took place in the 1990s, building an important relationship
between the development of site-specific art practices and the new genre of public art.
