This paper is an excerpt from postdoctoral research in art developed at the Department of
Communication and Art at the University of Aveiro (UA), Portugal. The research involves
photography, audiovisual media, object creation, and multiple image production and postproduction processes, motivated by the ecosophy of French philosopher Félix Guattari. His ecosophy is a theory that integrates three interrelated ecologies: environmental, social, and mental. After self-analysis of the creative process and the iconography produced, it was
possible to identify relationships between everyday images of the city of Aveiro – present
in photographs and in the audiovisual piece Quis saber quem sou (I wanted to know who I
am) – and the concept of ecosophy. Thus, we conducted an inter/transdisciplinary
investigation focusing on the experimental and original creation of an artistic project that
revealed paradoxical visualities containing subjective pollution and social violence in
objectifying representations of the female figure.
