Emeritus teacher of UFMG, Beatriz Coelho is the founder and former director of the Center for Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Mobile Patrimony at EBA / UFMG - Cecor. Creator of the first specialization course in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Mobile Patrimony in university, in Brazil. She is the director of the Center for Studies of the Brazilian Imaginary – Ceib. In this interview, Beatriz Coelho remembers the process of creating Cecor that celebrates forty years on September 5, 2020 and the first Specialization Course in Restoration. It also discusses the restoration of artistic works from Minas Gerais, such as the painting of the ceiling of the nave of the church of São Francisco de Assis, by Athaíde, in Ouro Preto and the wooden box of the organ of the Cathedral in Mariana.
