The article aims to describe a mode of the interviewee being on the scene in the film Jogo de Cena, here named figure character. The analysis is guided by the concepts of figure and figural, as conceived by Jean-François Lyotard. The analysis results in the description of how a paradoxical space emerges in the film within which the transformation of the character into a figure corresponds to a logical subversion of the narrative. The article allows us to conclude that the dialogue between film theory and figural theory can lead to innovative approaches to film and to the renewal of film analysis activity.
