Tracing a constellation between the works of Carl Einstein and Antonin Artaud, this work aims to understand the criticism of the link between space and representation in Western culture. Starting from Einstein's texts on cubism and african sculpture and Artaud's reflections on the Theater of Cruelty and tarahumara’s indigenous culture, we seek to reconstitute, in both works, a reflection that, when approaching the problem of space in
Western culture, constitutes a critical problematization of representation as a structuring paradigm of knowledge and sensorial and cultural experience in European societies.
This development allowed them to think about new ways of representing life and the world, in their dynamism, depth and complexity, neglected by the frontality and pictoriality that characterize representation.
