This paper analyzes the Glorieta de las Mujeres que Luchan, an anti-monument and space of art interventions and activism maintained by feminist collectives in Mexico City since 2021, in the traffic circle that housed a statue of Christopher Columbus, through themes of new genre public art and feminist interventions. As a methodological framework, we will use the reflections of Suzanne Lacy and Mary Jane Jacob about new genre public art and feminism, the works of Chantal Mouffe about dissent in public space, and the notions of anti-monument as a work of memory and resistance presented by Márcio Seligmann-Silva. The influence of contemporary feminist artists such as Mónica Mayer and Lorena Wolffer on the intervention will also be demonstrated.
