Ciência, tecnologia e sociedade: apontamentos teóricos

Resumo

O objetivo deste artigo é elencar um conjunto de autores que teorizaram as diferentes relações entre ciência, tecnologia e sociedade. Buscamos problematizar em que medida as relações dos cientistas com a sociedade moldam suas investigações científicas; se existiria alguma margem de ação desses indivíduos ou se suas práticas são limitadas por determinações superiores. Abordamos algumas das noções mais otimistas com o caráter transformador da ciência na sociedade, até as concepções de cunho crítico que enfatizam o potencial destrutivo dos efeitos da tecnologia. Em contraponto, demonstramos que outros estudos consideram tanto a ciência como a tecnologia como fenômenos sociais e, por isso, são construídas por meio de múltiplos interesses na interação de diversos atores sociais.

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this paper is to list a set of authors theorized that the different relationships between science, technology and society. We will question how the relations of scientists with society influence their scientific research; if there was any action of these individuals or their practices are limited by higher provisions. In this text, we will cover some of the most optimistic notions with the transforming nature of science in society, to the critical nature of concepts that emphasize the destructive potential of the effects of technology. In contrast, we expose other studies that consider both science and technology as social phenomena and therefore are constructed using multiple interests in the interaction of various social actors.
