Kitsch, memory and intimacy: elements of a minor heritage

Abstract

The article analyzes, in its first two parts, the kitsch phenomenon from the perspective of affectivity and objects of memory. Through kitsch, objects become laden with memory and sentimentality, allowing individuals to create connections and narratives through these kitsch objects. In the third part of the article, the concept of "minor heritage" is introduced, referring to the individual's intimate heritage, where, through kitsch objects, they preserve memories and affections within their personal sphere.
