The prelude to “The War Without Conscience”, in 1975
Abstract
The article explores basic problems that influenced the “prelude to war without conscience” in 1975. Effectively influenced by superstitions, nationalists sabotaged the Alvor agreement for their own benefit. The central problem addressed what motivated the members of the Portuguese State not to accept a new direction from the MPLA's Neto forums at the Lusaka Congress in 1974? Thus, we aim to: a) explain the process of decolonization in Angola in its many different endogenous and exogenous causes present in the partiality of the Portuguese State in conducting the process; b) characterize the specific patterns of political ideologies; c) diagnose the causes underlying the failure of the transitional government. The methodology includes careful reading of the works mentioned, seeking to find the points that converge and diverge from the problem raised. Clarifying the process that is so significant in the history of the Angolan people, which generated conflicts for 27 years.
