Abstract

The aim of the article will be to conduct a study on the history of scientific dissemination between the second half of the twentieth century and the beginning of the twenty-first century in the United States, focusing on the intellectual production of the most important authors of the period and showing how it can be divided. in two phases: the first would be marked by the attempt to bring science closer to the lay public through a critique of pseudoscience, and the second would be marked by the neoateist movement that emerged from the events that led to the collapse of the twin towers on September 11, 2001 in the United States. To conduct this discussion, the goal is to show how the propositions of the main US scientific disseminators end up dialoguing with ideas on truth, power, knowledge and discourse, and how this scientific dissemination can be an answer found by scientists to solve the anomalies of a crisis that has been affecting the academy.
