Abstract

Being immersed in constant debate and contestation, the History of Sciences, even today, is seen by many historians as not belonging to the field of History. Because it is interdisciplinarly linked to other areas of knowledge, and, because of this, having its own methodology, various views and arguments permeate this branch of historiography. In order to present and analyze this scientific field, this didactic and introductory article seeks to bring theoretical discussions on the History of Sciences, seeking not only to explain the characteristics and singularities of this area, but also to raise and answer some questions. such as “What is the History of Science?”; “What are the impacts of science on our society?”; “Is this really a field belonging to History?”; "Have studies on this area of knowledge changed since its inception?".
