Abstract

This article deals with the importance of the city of Rome during the 17th century, not only as a spiritual center of modern Christianity, but also as a temporal power in the face of the various power disputes that mark the period. As such, several monarchies and regions in Europe and other parts of the world send diplomatic missions to Rome, transforming the city into a Theater of the World. There, they fought political representations of the most diverse spaces, proving once again the historical centrality of the city.
