Abstract
The purpose of this article was to discuss how the city of Ponta Grossa was represented in the “Album de Ponta Grossa” produced by the municipal initiative in 1936. The album in question was the result of a joint action between municipal entities and figures linked to the government field that sponsored the same as a way of celebrating the history of the city, so a series of portraits linked to various fields were used, namely: industrial, urban, school, sports, military, etc. It is understood that the album in question is an important source to reflect the discourse constructed by the political elite of the period about Ponta Grossa and to analyze which visual memory they sought to monumentalize.
