a way to think about scientific practice and its consequences in history of medicine
Abstract
During the 20th century, many contributions were made to reflect on the activity of scientific communities. Studies on science have covered different debates from the perspectives of sociology, epistemology, history and philosophy. Lauching concepts and methods that aimed to understand scientific practice in a given society. This article discusses the perspectives of Karl Popper, Ludwik Fleck and Thomas Kuhn in order to compare their many works, which during the period dominated the scenario of research on science. In orden to focus on the central concepts of the authors, the article emphasizes the relationship between science and society; scientific practice and epistemology; production of knowledge and social conditions for its elaboration. Finally, from this analysis, the work handles how these concepts and methods were used by history of medicine.
