THE DEPOSITION OF DILMA ROUSSEFF THROUGH MEMES
A LOOK AT MISOGEN, MACHISM AND SEXISM
Abstract
With the advancement of technology and, consequently, the digital world, the same virtual ones have demonstrated their power of influence in the most diverse areas of our society, such as, for example, in the political sphere. In this sense, this work proposes to analyze a deposition of the ex-president of Brazil, Dilma Vana Rousseff, using memes as historical sources. For this, a central analysis in three categories, namely: Machismo, Sexismo and Misogyny. The authentic intention was to verify which were the main ideas employed, in the argumentative resource for the mobilization of the largest possible number of Brazilians, by those who directly opposed the continuation of Dilma Rousseff in the position of president of the country. Taking this context of political crisis as a starting point, we theoretically discuss the History of Women, gender and representation of women in the media, the latter being an item of important capital for the construction of research and we analyze the memes that elect the research and ditch the memes.
