Abstract

The Cold War was certainly the period in which the clash between the two hegemonic blocks, capitalist and communist, became notoriously explicit. From this scenario, the present research aims to analyze the political field from the perspective of the critical position of the French sociologist Raymond Aron. This work, which is linked to the project "Democracy in Cold War Times", started in October 2020 and has been developed, since then, with a political-economic approach about the dichotomy of the period. It is also supported by the theoretical and methodological framework of the Conceptual History of the Politician, also using Aron's authorial works. The hypothesis initially perceived, that Aron's reasoning would tend to a hybridism of the political-economic model, was confirmed based on the affinity and convergence of Aronian arguments with the theses disseminated by John Maynard Keynes.
