WHAT IS THE PLACE OF THE QUILOMBOLA DISCUSSION?
A DESCRIPTIVE ANALYSIS OF THE QUILOMBOLA CATEGORY IN BRAZILIAN SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTIONT
Abstract
Discussions around quilombola populations have been approached from different perspectives of knowledge. It was from this reflection on the production of knowledge in the area of communication, focusing on the quilombola theme, that this research originated. With this, the objective of this article was to carry out a survey of the works published in the main communication research networks - Sbpjor and Compós - between the years 2000 to 2022. (quilombo; quilombos and quilombola) in the repositories of each institution. We point out that among the 5,649 productions analyzed, only three addressed the quilombola theme. This demonstrates the existence of gaps in the scientific production on quilombola populations, despite the relevance of the subject for understanding the country's social, political and cultural issues.
