A trajetória dos estudos africanos no Brasil: 1930 a 1980

Resumo

Os estudos africanos nasceram a partir de diferentes contextos e compuseram distintas trajetórias ao redor do mundo. Tanto no Brasil quanto em outros lugares, sentiram transformações metodológicas ao longo do tempo, ocorridas no ambiente acadêmico e também na sociedade. Por isso, estudá-las permite ampliarmos a compreensão acerca dos estudos africanos como um processo. Neste artigo, evidenciamos os principais pensamentos e correntes historiográficas que permearam a área, estabelecendo paralelos, conexões e apontando as diferenças do que foi produzido no país e no exterior.

ABSTRACT: The African studies born from different contexts and had different paths around the world. Both in Brazil and in other places felt methodological changes over time, which occurred in academia as well as in society. Therefore, study it allows broaden our understanding of African studies as a process. In this article, we highlight the main thoughts and historiographical currents that permeated the area, establishing parallel connections and pointing out the differences of what was produced in the country and abroad.
