Abstract:
Since the advent of Christianity, the Jews have suffered many restrictions within the Christian society. During the Middle Ages the Judeo-Christian conflict is fierce and by several times the Jews were persecuted, killed or converted to Christianity. Although these events are repeated throughout Christendom, it was on the Iberian peninsula, stronghold of secular Jewish communities, that conflicts have intensified. When conversions did not resolve the issue Judeo-Christian anymore, the converts have become the targets of the new quarrels. The problem became twofold: on one hand the Jewish community and on the other Christian converts or the New Chritians. For this reason, the Old Christians created the statutes of blood purity that socially excluded all Christians of Jewish descent.
