Respeitável público, o maior espetáculo da terra! A trajetória do Circo: de suas origens a sua configuração atual no Brasil

Resumo

Considerado o espetáculo mais antigo da terra, a origem do circo é um assunto que gera controvérsias. Independentemente de sua origem, seja na China de 5.000 anos atrás, seja dos exercícios atléticos da Grécia, a trajetória itinerante do circo viabilizou contato e trocas constantes com diversos lugares, contextos políticos e sociais, recebendo influências da arte local e agregando elementos e artistas. A trajetória do circo mostra que essa linguagem artística tem uma forma de organização bastante peculiar. De base familiar, as habilidades passam de pai a filhos e de geração em geração e cada elemento da família é indispensável para o funcionamento do todo. O circo é a arte do diverso que desde os seus primórdios abrangeu e dialogou com as mais diversas formas de expressão humana, continuando sua trajetória e processo de arte plural. Embora atualmente coexistam diversas configurações estéticas de sua linguagem, a estrutura familiar do circo foi imprescindível para a continuidade dessa arte e das suas técnicas ao redor do mundo.

ABSTRACT: The trajectory of the circus shows that this artistic language, no date nor the precise site of appearance, was consolidated in the midst of a natural form of organization. Family based, where each individual is indispensable for the functioning of the whole circus skills passed from father to son and from generation to generation. The itinerant character of the circus enabled contact and constant exchange with many places, political and social contexts, taking influences from local art and artists and adding elements. The circus is the art of diverse since its inception covered and spoke with many forms of human expression. Currently the circus continues its process of art with the emergence of plural different aesthetic ramifications of his spectacular language, which coexist with the traditional structure based on team, traveling and oral knowledge, indispensable for the dissemination of circus arts and their techniques to around the world.
