ABSTRACT: This article aims to discuss the idea of landscape and its construction through the eyes of the travelers. Still, aims discuss the constitution of the representations in the travel narratives, from three different travellers. João da Silva Feijó, sergeant and naturalist in charged for the lusitanic Crown for the philosophical investigations in the Capitaincy of Ceará, besides, he was responsible to make the description and inventory of the objects of Natural History; Henry Koster, Britannic merchant who lived in Pernambuco in the early nineteenth century and kept relationships with Britannic romantic writers; and still, the Scottish naturalist George Gardner, from the Philosophical Society of Glasgow and from the Botanic Gardens of Kew. Their travels, in the captaincies of North Brazil between 1800 and 1840, were made by service of different institutions and had distinct aims, so, even trespassing the same spaces, their narratives and representations of the populations, places and the constitution of the landscapes through their eyes appear in different ways, reveal the tension field between the collective ambit of the representations and the individuals traces, that emerge in their narratives.
