O Romantismo e o verso clássico francês.

Resumo

Resumo: O presente trabalho apresenta uma parte da história do verso francês, considerando para isso sua tradição, suas opções clássicas e a revolta romântica. Dentre as muitas modificações que o Romantismo instaurou na literatura francesa, as alterações feitas sobre o padrão do verso clássico são um dos melhores exemplos formais das realizações dessa escola. A criatividade poética original de um Victor Hugo, bem como o esforço de tradutores literários responsáveis por absorver e verter para a língua francesa a produção do Romantismo de outros países geraram um esforço conjunto que acabou sendo responsável, a longo prazo, por instaurar a modernidade poética em território gaulês.

Abstract: This paper presents part of the history of the french verse, taking into consideration its tradition, its classical possibilities and the rebellion of the Romantics. Among the many modifications that Romanticism brought to French literature, the alterations to the patterns of classical verse writing are one of the best formal examples of the achievements of the school. The original poetic creativity of a Victor Hugo, as well as the toil of literary translators responsible for absorbing and bringing to the French language what the Romantics produced in other countries created a concerted effort that was responsible, in the long run, for bringing modernity into the land of the Gauls.
