This article aims to provide support for an understanding of the concept of Barthes’s punctum. Particularly attentive to the poetic references, notably the Japanese haiku, which the definition of Barthes appeals to, this article also search to highlight the convergence between punctum and writing, deducting from it the poeticity that many have recognized in Barthes’ theory of photography. We believe that such an approach innovates the many existing approaches to the punctum.
