Abstract

In this paper I underline that scholars devoted of Twentieth Century Chilean drama are affected by agoraphobia: extreme or irrational fear of open or public places. According to their works, those scholars are not interested in the study of those spaces of theatrical production located beyond their comfort zones (university, lettered city). Against this agoraphobic condition, I propose to draw a map of key spaces that are still unattended for major theater critics: underground networks, popular circuses, and LGTB urban discos, among others. I will designate these spaces as counter-pedagogical scenarios. In the development of my argument, I will illustrate cultural interventions and works by Antonio Acevedo Hernández, Jorge Díaz y Andrés Pérez.
