Abstract

This text presents analyses based on the review conducted for the article “Reflections on Artificial Intelligence in Light of the Foundations of Professional and Technological Education.” The increasing integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the educational context requires reforms in the teaching-learning process to ensure that student development remains meaningful. Generative AI tools differ from previous technologies by enabling the execution of complex tasks, often surpassing students' own academic production. This transformation raises questions about maintaining cognitive, social, emotional, and professional competencies in an educational environment heavily influenced by AI. AI has a direct impact on the academic curriculum, requiring technical and conceptual approaches that allow for its understanding within a social and historical context. Particularly in professional and technological education, its integration is essential to align academic training with the new demands of the job market. However, excessive reliance on these tools may hinder students' critical and analytical development, necessitating adaptations in assessment and pedagogical methodologies. At the same time, AI can enhance learning by facilitating access to information, organizing content, and personalizing education. However, its use must be accompanied by critical training to mitigate risks such as algorithmic biases and inequality in access to technology. Thus, it is the responsibility of educational institutions and policymakers to ensure the appropriate pedagogical implementation of AI, promoting equitable access, continuous teacher training, and clear guidelines for its adoption in academic environments.
