Resumo

Este estudo analisa algumas obras de arte medievais e modernas que criam criaturas mitológicas que entraram na Arca de Noé (Gn 6:5-9), criaturas voadoras semelhantes a dragões e imaginárias, assim como unicórnios. Os artistas supostamente optaram por retratar esses animais por várias razões: a) no mundo antigo, a existência de criaturas com qualidades incomuns e excepcionais era uma crença comumente aceita; b) animais mitológicos despertaram, reiteradamente, a imaginação e a curiosidade dos antigos.
