Abstract

Study on technical and musical aspects of music recording, especially flute recording, focusing on parameters such as the instrument ́s physical traits and positioning, sound equipment, types of microphones, acoustic environment and the musical conception of the performer and sound technician. It includes figures, graphics and microphones’s positioning sketches.

Author Biography

Maurício Freire Garcia, University of Minas Gerais (Brazil)

Maurício Freire Garcia is professor of flute at the UFMG School of Music, where he was Director from 1994 to 1998. He holds a Master's degree in Flute Performance from the New England Conservatory, USA, and is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Flute Performance at the same institution.
