Author Biography

Egberto Gismonti

Composer, arranger, and instrumentalist. His work does not allow for genre classifications; in it, the boundaries between popular and erudite music are quite blurred. With an erudite background, he researched Brazilian popular and folk music. A multi-instrumentalist, he was one of the first Brazilian musicians to use synthesizers. He has composed soundtracks for cinema, theater, ballet, and TV series.
