Abstract

Musical analisys and comments about Que Trata de España, an unpublished work for guitar by the Brazilian composer Willy Corrêa de Oliveira, from a technical point of view. Its relationships with the previous guitar repertoire and contributions for instrumental technique. The problems related to the guitar writing when undertaken by a non-guitar player composer and the important role of the contributions by guitar players. Language interchanges within the aesthetics of Twentieth-century art as a source of musical inspiration.

Author Biography

  • Flávio Apro, São Paulo State University

    studied with Henrique Pinto, Fábio Zanon, and Monina Távora, graduating from ECA-USP under the guidance of Edelton Gloeden. He regularly performs at major concert halls in Brazil (São Paulo Municipal Theater, FINEP, MASP, Museu da Casa Brasileira, Livraria Cultura, Vergueiro Cultural Center, etc.), as well as abroad (such as at the Kyoto Festival, Japan). His first CD, Praeludium (1997), was a critical and public success, and he is currently preparing the release of the 12 Estudos para Violão by Francisco Mignone.
