Abstract

Objective: The objective of this study is to describe a methodological proposal for the performance of expert committees via an electronic questionnaire implemented and tested in the cultural adaptation of the Diabetes Empowerment Scale-Short Form instrument. Method: A methodological study was carried out with 38 specialists from the areas of linguistics and health sciences who evaluated the instrument translated via electronic questionnaire, developed and applied through e-Surv web tool. The level of acceptance of experts on the answers to the questionnaire was evaluated by absolute and relative frequencies and the level of agreement among the experts was evaluated by calculating the Cohen-Fleisss Kappa coefficient. The analyses were carried out in the statistical programming environment R. Results: Interdisciplinary collaboration, coupled with the online data collection methodology resulted in heterogeneous opinions, which generated a low agreement between the experts in the adaptation of the translated instrument. However, it is believed that this diversity of opinions generated suggestions that have enriched the translation process. Conclusion: The use of the online tool proved to be reliable, safe and effective in the dynamics of the experts to evaluate health instruments.
