The text, a series of letters to anthropologist Fernanda Eugenio, recounts the author’s
methodological experience in mediating research in Visual Arts. It addresses the
application of concept-tools developed by the Modo Operativo AND, emerging from the
inquiry: How to ethically sustain poetry within research? By identifying research logics within the university in its tendency toward interpretation and the construction of problems from pre-conceived answers, it experiments with the crafting of epistemicaffective dynamics that may contribute to the development of artistic works in the university context operating through an openness to the agency of the living thing. The
paper traces the research journey and concludes by proposing the “how-with/with whom?” as an expansion of the interrogatives “what, how, when/where?” as offered by MO_AND.
