Abstract

In the last century, Balinese dances were spread throughout the world through journeys made by foreign artists visiting Bali and Balinese artists abroad. To understand the dynamics of these movements, we will analyze some routes traced by I Made Bandem, contextualizing them historically. Born in a family of artists, I Made Bandem is a personality recognized both in Indonesia and abroad. The cartography of his itineraries is somewhat exemplary, as it is similar to other Balinese artists. It highlights the evolution and the transformations of Balinese dance in the last decades.
