L'article présente une recherche sur les premières images scéniques obtenues grâce à des expériences en utilisant des dispositifs optiques, dont beaucoup étaient utilisés avant même l'apparition du cinéma: la chambre obscure, la lanterne magique et la fantasmagorie. Les premières images ont leur importance dans la création de scènes dont l'ambiance est due à la relation établie entre dispositif, créateur / manipulateur, image et public.
