This work reflects experiences of theatrical practice with children aged 7 and 8 from the Initial Series in a school in the city of Cubatão/SP. In the developed teaching processes, we sought to understand how the children's narratives, created through the improvisation game, enable the practical learning of scenic arts and also provide opportunities for children to talk about their daily lives. The ethnographic investigation made it possible to describe the encounters of children with art, and at the same time, the artistic-pedagogical knowledge and practices of the educator-artist. The structure of improvisation games used in these practices enabled students and educator to read their worlds and also, to a lesser extent and more modest in scope, recreate and create new worlds.
