From the idea that the functions of academic writing are inscribed in normative practicesand cannot exist beyond the boundaries of conventional, or to use a more appropriateterm, “straight” practices, the author articulates the notion of queer writing for scientificproduction in the arts. Based on a methodological approach involving scavenger methodology (Halberstam), the concept of “sublime in the banal”, by Denilson Lopes (2007)and the “desaquendação” of coloniality the text, by investing in new logics and innovative approaches, finds ways to resist the normalization of dominant discourses in the classroom and claims a sense of agency in and through writing, which ultimately functions to silence dissenting voices.
