The paper addresses the scenic operability of the mask by the theater group from Minas Gerais, Pigmalião Escultura que Mexe. In addition to detailing its use and describing aspects of its materiality, it focuses on the political and philosophical configurations engendered by the act of the performer unmasking before the audience. To this end, it describes and problematizes three scenes from three different shows in its repertoire: O quadro de todos juntos (2014), Mordaz (2016), and Macunaïma Gourmet (2017).
