Appreciation of social influences and the relationship between arts and education in the development of citizenship

Artistic practices have a relevant contribution to learning and can also impact the development of citizenship when used appropriately, also through the relationship between the educational institutions and the society. Considering this reality, the present study aimed to present an appreciation of the correspondences observed, with a view to the development of citizenship, between social influences and the relationship between arts and education. This investigation took place through qualitative exploratory research, from an interpretative perspective, through which a model is presented that brings together the elements under study – education, arts, social influences and citizenship – and allows us to perceive the connections among these themes, identifying the existing links and associations.
