Abstract

The present study sought to problematize the representations of women who were part of political militancy during the military dictatorship. Focusing on the student movement during the 1960s and 1970s, it aims to show the impacts that their actions caused by counteracting the growing wave of conservatism that ravaged Brazil after the 1964 coup. stoning” we seek to rescue the memory of these women, firstly, analyzing the historical context, the role of universities in the political formation of Brazilian society and, finally, the presence of these women on student fronts through the analysis of three specific trajectories, Helenira Resende de Souza Nazareth, Catarina Meloni Assirati and Suely Yumiko Kanayama.
