“Rumo à abertura”: um debate historiográfico sobre a transição política (1974-88)
Abstract
This article seeks to analyze the moment of political transition from Brazil’s military dictatorship to the New Republic (1974-1988). Several analyzes have already prioritized systematizing studies on the coup d’État and the beginning of the regime, but the same did not happen with the opposite process, of opening and redemocratization. Methodologically, we carried out a literature review seeking a broad understanding of the field of research based mainly on secondary sources. We concluded that, although the studies analyzed are works of great relevance regarding the military regime, there is a need for more extensive work regarding the period more thoroughly, with a strong empirical basis.
